Qualifications
All of our staff are either qualified or working towards a Childcare Qualification. We currently have staff with Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 NVQ’s, most staff are First Aid Trained and ALL staff have either attend a Safe-guarding Children course or have undergone in-house training. Food is prepared on the premises by staff holding an up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate.
We send Staff on as many relevant course as possible to help keep up with new ideas and activities and Staff who have attend a course then feed back to all other Staff to help keep us all up-to-date with current advice on good practice.
Safety
Many of our staff have attended health and safety courses, we carry out our own daily safety checks, have risk assessments for day to day occurrences and carry out risk assessments for any new activity or trip out. We also hold regular fire drills with the children and equipment is checked regularly.
Whenever the children are outside, be it being collected from school, out on a trip with us or even playing in our outdoor area; they wear a high visibility vest and have their names on a checklist. The staff also wear the Hi-Vis Vests so that the children can easily see them.
The Mini Bus
The minibus we use with the children is fully insured and MOT’d, it undergoes regular services and whenever we have any problems with it, it goes straight to the garage to be fixed. We have enough booster seats for the whole bus and regularly check each child’s height to ascertain whether they need one or not. And every seat has a seat belt and a slider to make the seatbelt suitable for children.
